Matthias Näf was born in Switzerland in 1986. He received his Bachelor and Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the ETH Zürich (Switzerland) in 2011 and 2014 respectively. From 2016 he has been working as a PhD researcher in the Multibody Mechanics and Robotics research group at VUB.

Research

Matthias' research focusses on the development of an assistive lower back exoskeleton to prevent low-back pain. Currently he is involved in the SPEXOR project for the development of an exoskeleton to prevent low-back pain in able bodied workers and to support workers with low-back pain in vocational rehabilitation.
